Sycamore Canyon Stables is located 1/4 mile from the Sycamore Canyon Open Space preserve and is easily accessible via horseback.

The reserve is open to non-motorized vehicles. The preserve consists of 1,700 acres of open space including 325 acres of the Gooden Ranch. Gooden Ranch is a historical site with structures that date back to the 1930's.

The preserve boasts over 10 miles of horseback riding trails that are maintained by the San Diego Parks and Recreation Department. Many of the boarders at Sycamore Canyon Stables use these trails on a regular basis.
